I dig, sorta predictable, but that was why I liked

The song had all the elements of typical video ambience, but you did it so well I'm just glad you didn't do it any other way.

Great use of Reason, you should expand out into other programs, you'd use it well I feel.

Good work man. It didn't overpower aswell which suits the feel of Half Life. I gave it a nine simply because it was done so well. The structure was subtle, but just right.
I'm torn between 8/10 and 9/10 so I went with 9.

I'd love to get into video game music making at some point to.

Bravo really.

Thanks for the review, dude. :)

It's true about expanding, I've pidgeon-holed myself in Reason for quite some time simply because I love it's portability and ease of use.

Check out part 2 of this song so you can see hear when the level gets more interesting. :D

Simple, catchy, effective, clever.

Makes me feel of days when I was walking home from. The little breakdown half way through. It'd been nice with a little more developement, but I also feel that it's consistant simplicity was it's charm. The melody synth fit very well which the bouncy/happy feel of the whole thing. The end was neat too, and soothing vocal synth complimented the track in a relaxing way.

Good submission.d

I give it 8.

I love the way it went totally abstract at 30secs or so. I thought the melody before hand rose a bit to loud and silence out the other bits where as I think it should have all built and blown my ear drums away. I liked the way the tune backbeated at 1.30. It's cool man. The way the reversing worked at the beginning was used to good effect too.

I like. But...

You should redo this with a TR808 vst and it'll sound alot better.

Well arranged though, I think it needs a little more to blend the parts together/ I liked the hook at the end alot.

What is TR808?! EGADS! IS THIS GOIGN TO BE ON A TEST?!

The changes were cool.

I like it, cleverly done and everything. Need to lose those midi sounds. Get better ones or get the real sounds, and run it through a midi sequencer. Then you can have the same thing, but with real instruments.

Like it though, pretty freaking good for your first composition.

Did you use sibelius?

Nightwasp responds:

Thanks for the comment. Yup, i did use sibelius. I see what you mean by using midi instead. I recorded it as a wav. file, and converted it into a MP3 via that.

Nice man.

I always liked the original song, I swear there was Goldeneye sample in there somewhere. Nice though.

I dig it.

Sounds very RPG'ish.

It sounds like it'd fit perfectly to me. Good dynamics.

nocius responds:

Thanks. I kinda wanted it to sound pretty RPGish :)
